Greater El Paso Football Showcase names All Star Players

The Greater El Paso Football Showcase has released East and West rosters for the 25th Anniversary Showcase.  The game will be played on Dec. 17, 2016 in the Sun Bowl.

Players begin practice on Monday, Dec. 5.  The East team, led by veteran All Star coach Phil Hatch, will practice at Socorro ISD’s SAC while the West team, led by fourth year All Star coach Don Brooks, will practice at Canutillo High School.

Prior to the game, the players will participate in All Star Mentor Day, Saturday, Dec. 3 and Media Day, Saturday, Dec. 10.

All El Paso area senior football players are invited to participate in the All Star Combine, Friday, Dec. 16.  Seniors must register by Dec. 1 to participate.  For more information on the combine and game, visit gepfs.com or download our new mobile app available on iTunes or Google Play.

The showcase is also inviting all past game participants including players, band, cheerleaders, JROTC, dancers and choir to take part in the festivities this year.

The 92 seniors named to the teams will meet with the All Star coaches on Monday, Nov. 28 at YISD central office, 9600 Sims.  The meeting will begin at 6 pm in the Theater.

There are 3 changes to the rosters, and they are as follows:

#23 Joshua Fields, Americas
Replacement – #23 Ray Morales, Del Valle, 5’8″, 165

 #35 Kolton Lindeman, Americas
Replacement – #35 Aaron Apodaca, Montwood, 5’10”, 185

#10 Jeffrey Spence, Fabens
Replacement –  #10 Martin Rios, Ysleta, 6’3″, 195
