Discussion: Melatonin is the primary hormone synthesized in the pineal gland. It is considered synchronize our biological clock as a master clock that distributed temporal cues. Nevertheless, melatonin is involved in the protection of our GI tract, has immunologic, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory functions that serve as a potent therapeutic option.
